Let’s talk about a guy, a roofing contractor like many of my clients, who had a problem. (I’m a specialist in home improvement marketing)
Probably not the same problems you have, but it was eating this guy up. The contractor was an aggressive marketer, posting about $20M in revenue in his market. After talking to countless guys like him, I can tell you that the ones who understand marketing at the level he does are few..
You see, he was STRONG in using text messaging marketing to people who lived in an area recently hit by a hail storm. His systems and process could turn on a dime and start dropping texts to notify people of the storm and his offer to check the home for damage.
If you lived in the area where a hail storm hit, within 2 hours, he’d be offering to help you. Almost no other company was as quick.
Online Visibility is the Key To Internet Marketing Success
So what was the problem you say? His company, for the most part, was invisible in Google Search. His listing in the local map was largely done right. However there were other issues in his online presence that prevented Google from giving him visibility.
And know this, if I go online to search for something in my local area and you are not among the list of companies I see – then you don’t exist. While he was sending lots of text messages prospects may want to go online to check him out. He was invisible to searchers and he KNEW he was losing many roof replacement jobs to the lack of visibility.
In 2024, you win Google Search in the local maps and with search terms like “near me”. The companies that Google thinks are best, have visibility in the “3-Pack” of listings under the top group of ads. If you’re not found in the 3-Pack, you have to hope for the prospect to click the tiny link that says “more companies” and search there – and most don’t.

Objective Analysis To Find Online Visibility Problems
I won’t disclose everything I was able to find but at the root of it was some minor mistakes, like publishing multiple addresses and/or phone numbers. Beyond that he had some issues that seriously slowed down his website – especially his mobile site.
You should know that Google is fanatic about site speed. Like it or not, it’s a major factor in where they rank your site.
Moises found in the analysis process that the web development team either didn’t understand the importance of site speed, or didn’t care about the goals or results of their client. The man said to me: “I am a $20 million dollar company. I never asked for a cheap website. I need this to be fast.”
He fired that group and had a new site built that was lightning fast!
A handful of other issues were tweaked and fixed and with the new, faster site, he was reindexed in search. Then we sat back to wait for Google to reevaluate things from their perspective.
What happened? What results did the contractor get from our work? I can’t say it any better than he put it… About 2 weeks later I got an email that said: “You did it!!, I am in the 3-Pack in my area.”
